Being located in the centre of Delhi, Red fort is one of the most important places as listed by UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2007. It was constructed by the 5th Mughal Emperor, and it is enclosed by big red sandstone walls. On Independence Day, Prime Minister delivers broadcast speech from its rampart. Red Fort increases Delhi tourism and people from all over the world came here to visit these monuments.


One of the oldest forts, it is located in one of the most ancient cities of Delhi, Indraprastha. Afghan king Sher Shah Suri started constructing it and ultimately it was finished by his son Islam Shah. This fort is considered to be the first city of Delhi.  Purana Quila is the spot for the spectacular sound and light show held every evening. Purana Quila is listed as of the best tourist spot in Delhi Tourism.


It is the tomb of the famous Mughal Emperor Humayun, located in Nizamuddin East, Delhi, close to the site of Purana Quila. In 1993, it was acknowledged as one of the heritage sites by UNESCO. Mirak Mirza Ghiyath, a Persian, was the planner engaged by Haji Begum for this tomb. Humayun Tomb is one of the top destination in Delhi Tourism.


Famous for its flower lotus-like shape, Lotus Temple is a Bahari abode of Worship and located in New Delhi. Delhi is mainly famous for this temple, and still, now it has won numerous architectural awards. The Lotus Temple is open to all, despite of any religion. A 2001 CNN account referred to it as the most visited structure in the world. Lotus Temple is listed on the top of the Delhi tourism destinations list.


Affirmed by the UNESCO world Heritage site, Qutub Minar is the tallest brick made the monument in the world. It is located in the Mehrauli area of Delhi. Mainly made of red sandstone and marble, it is almost 240 feet tall which covers an area of 14.32 meter. Qutub-Al-Din Aibak, Iltutmish and Firoz Shah constructed this beautiful piece. Qutub Minar is the one of the choice of tourists in Delhi tourism.


Ugrasen ki baoli, selected as a  protected monument by the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) under the Ancient Monuments and Archaeological Sites and Remains Act of 1958, is a 60-meter long and 15-meter broad historical step well on Hailey Road, near Connaught Place, Jantar Mantar in New Delhi, India. Ugrasen Ki Baoli is one of the best tourist site in Delhi tourism.


Situated in the middle of New Delhi, it is a city park, which contains the tomb of Mohammed Shah, Sikandar Lodi, Shisha Gumbad and Bara Gumbad. The tomb of Mohammed Shah and Sikandar Lodi is of octagonal shape, and the other two are square monuments with domes. A favourite spot for the early morning walk. Lodi Gardens is one of the best garden in Delhi.


Located in New Delhi, Jantar Mantar is a unique structural piece and the main attraction of Delhi. Maharaja Jai Singh II of Jaipur started building it on 1723 and was completed on 1724. It consists of 13 architectural astronomy instruments. The primary purpose of making this structure was to predict times and movements of the sun, moon and planets. Jantar Mantar is one of the best tourist destination in Delhi tourism.


A war memorial located across the Rajpath in Delhi, it was originally called the All India War Memorial. It is a monument to 82,000 soldiers of the Indian Army who died during the First World War. It copies the architectural fashion of triumphal arch. 13,300 servicemen’s names, as well as many soldiers from the UK, are emblazoned on the gate.
