  • Galyat

Is a narrow strip or area roughly 50–80 km north-east of Islamabad, Pakistan. Many of the towns in the area have the word gali as part of their names, and are popular tourist resorts.

The Galyat tracts were first ‘discovered’ by early British colonial officials, who ventured into these areas circa 1846-47, The British found them climatically conducive to them and began to develop some of the sites in the range/tract as hill resorts, to escape the summer heat of the low-lands. Later on, after Partition/Independence of Pakistan in 1947, these were neglected for some time but eventually developed further from the 1960s onwards as popular resorts.

Is known as Malika-e-Kohsar, which means the Queen of Hills. Murree is only an hour’s drive northeast of Islamabad. From Rawalpindi it is only 64 km and at an altitude of 2,286 meters. Murree spreads along the top of a ridge for about five kilometres (three miles). At the northeast end is Kashmir Point, with views across the valley of the Jhelum River into Azad Kashmir. At the southwest end is Pindi Point, looking back towards Rawalpindi and Islamabad. Between the two runs The Mall, at the centre of, which is the main shopping area, where most people congregate. Patriata is 25 km from Murree. It has become a new tourist resort. There is a chairlift and cable car system, which takes visitors up to Patriata Ridge in two stages from Gulehra Gali. The first stage is by chair lift up to Patriata Bazaar. From here visitors transfer to cable car gondolas for the ride up to Patriata Ride. A restaurant has also been established. Further plans include development of a wildlife park at the mid-station.

  • Dera Ghazi Khan

The historical sites are the anchors of DG Khan’s tourism industry. The Tombs of Ghazi Khan and Hazarat Sakhi Sarwar are two of the main attractions of the city. The former is estimated to have been built around the 15th century, and the latter during the 13th century and oldest building in the area. From the interiors to the façade, Shah Bagh Mosque is a work of art. The biggest masjid is found at the heart of the city and it is named Jamia. The big hall can carry up to 3,000 people, while the larger courtyard can hold up to 10,000 people at once.

  • Gorakh Hill

Is a Hill Station of Sindh, Pakistan. It is situated at an elevation of 5,688 ft (1,734 m) in the Kirthar Mountains, Gorakh Hill Station is situated on one of the highest plateaus of Sindh, spread over 2,500 acres (10 km2) of land. It is very attractive to nature-lovers owing to its temperate weather and beautiful surroundings. Gorakh’s elevation gives it a special climate, with sub-zero temperatures during winter and generally below 20 °C in summer, with about 120 mm of average annual rainfall. Tourists can arrange their own transport from Sehwan Sharif to the hill station.

  • Ziarat

Is a district in the north of Balochistan province of Pakistan. situated at an altitude of about 2,400 meters. It has some of the oldest Juniper forests in the world. A tourist destination, the economy of the district also benefits from orchards of apples and cherries. The Ziarat district has the highest Human Development Index of all districts in the province. The Founder of Pakistan, Muhammad Ali Jinnah spent his last days of his life in Ziarat Residency in Ziarat.

  • Gilgit Baltistan

It is one of the best tourist spots in Pakistan. Gilgit-Baltistan is home to five of the “eight-thousanders” and to more than fifty peaks above 7,000 metres (23,000 ft). Gilgit and Skardu are the two main hubs for expeditions to those mountains. The region is home to some of the world’s highest mountain ranges. The main ranges are the Karakoram and the western Himalayas. The Pamir Mountains are to the north, and the Hindu Kush lies to the west. Amongst the highest mountains are K2 (Mount Godwin-Austen) and Nanga Parbat, the latter being one of the most feared mountains in the world.

Three of the world’s longest glaciers outside the Polar Regions are found in Gilgit-Baltistan: the Biafo Glacier, the Baltoro Glacier, and the Batura Glacier.

The mountainous terrain of the region, including four of the world’s 14 Eight-thousanders peaks (8,000 m and above), attracts the attention of tourists, trekkers and mountaineers from around the world. The main tourist season is from April to October; except at this time, the area can be cut off for extended periods by the snowy, freezing winter weather.

Accessible from Skardu by road, the nearby Askole and Hushe are the main gateways to the snow-covered 8,000 m peaks including K2, the Gasherbrums, Broad Peak, and the Trango Towers, and to the huge glaciers of Baltoro, Biafo and Trango. This makes Skardu the main tourist and mountaineering base in the area, which has led to the development of a reasonably extensive tourist infrastructure including shops and hotels. However, the popularity of the region results in high prices, especially during the main trekking season.

Astore Valley is located in Astore District in the territory of Gilgit-Baltistan, Pakistan. The valley is at an elevation of 2,600 meters (8,500 feet), Chilm is the most beautiful village of Astore, being a starting point of Deosai, the world’s second highest plateau. Agriculture and livestock is the major source of livelihood complemented by seasonal work in down districts of the country. Gilgit city is one of the two major hubs for all mountaineering expeditions in Gilgit–Baltistan. Almost all tourists headed for treks in Karakoram or Himalaya Ranges arrive at Gilgit first. Gilgit is served by the nearby Gilgit Airport. Many tourists choose to travel to Gilgit by air, since road travel between Islamabad and Gilgit, by the Karakoram Highway, takes 14–24 hours, whereas the air travel takes a mere 55–60 minutes.

Bà Nà Hill Station (or Bà Nà Hills) is a hill station and resort located in the Truong Son Mountains west of the city of Da Nang, in central Vietnam. Kakadu National Park has some of the best examples of Aboriginal rock art in Australia. The sites of Nourlangie and Ubirr are among the most visited locations in the park. It is possible to view some of Kakadu’s diverse wildlife at places like Yellow Water Billabong, Cooinda on board a wildlife cruise or at Mamukala Wetlands or Anbangbang Billabong. There are a wide variety of designated camping sites throughout the park. Jabiru, Cooinda and South Alligator all have commercial camping areas and are in close proximity to most of the important natural attractions in these areas. Some of the park’s campsites charge a nominal fee as these have shower and toilet facilities, others are free, however they have limited or no facilities.
